The project was launched in 1990 and documents everyday life in town.
It was revived in 2001 and from then, there was a commitment to run the project every 10 years.
Ms Lindeman has been involved in all three instalments so far, and jumped at the chance to sign up again this year.
‘‘I still remember it all came about when Mark Logan approached me,’’ she said.
‘‘He had the book ‘A Day in the Life of Australia’ and said we should do something similar for the town of Deniliquin.
‘‘We had a small but active photography group back then, and the idea really captured my imagination, so we started planning it out.
‘‘I recently came across old letters we had written, seeking support from various ministers in parliament to help fund the project.
‘‘I don’t think we received any funding, but we did have Fujifilm donate all the film we needed.
‘‘We also had plenty of support from Bruce Richards, who owned the camera shop in town in Napier St where Brontes is now located. He let us use his dark room to develop the photos.’’
All photos taken that year were exhibited in the Multi Arts Hall, in Cressy St.
Ms Lindeman said the exhibition was a massive success.
‘‘It got to that stage where we thought we had to archive all the photos,’’ she said.
‘‘It has since grown from there. I’m so grateful to Kate Butler for embracing this project and making it as big as it has become.
‘‘This year I’ll be using my camera on my phone, which takes some high quality photos.
‘‘It’s fantastic that so many more people can be involved in this project now due to the ease of access to cameras.
‘‘I think it’s nice to have a plan on what you want to capture on the day, but it’s all about those random moments that happen.
‘‘It’s not all about the quality of the photo but it’s about capturing the day.’’
The 2021 ‘A Day in the Life of Deni’ will be held on March 9.
For 24 hours, community members take photographs of their lives and their town and all photos will then form part of an exhibition.
They will also be recorded for posterity, along with photographs taken on March 9 in 1990, 2001 and 2011.
