Artist announcements are expected to be made by the end of the year, coinciding with the start of ticket sales.
The Deni Play on the Plains Festival Ltd team has promised ‘‘artists never before seen on our main stage’’ and new around the grounds entertainment added to the regular schedule.
‘‘You thought 2019 was big. To celebrate our return and welcome you all back, we have been planning for 2022 to be our biggest yet,’’ the team behind the famed event has said.
‘‘To top it off, do we have a surprise for all Adult ticket holders (purchased or carried over)? Hint: Remember when your purchased ticket went into a draw to win a ute?
‘‘Make sure you lock in Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1, 2022 and join us for the biggest party on the plains!’’
The team has also hinted there’s an announcement coming soon for its other event — the Play on the Plains Festival.
The event will be back on Saturday, March 12, 2022, also at the Deni Ute Muster site.
Free concert
It’s been a long time since local music was heard in NSW, but that is set to change for Deniliquin and surrounds from next week.
There will be a free concert next Friday, November 5 at the South West Music Regional Conservatorium in Cressy St, Deniliquin.
Titled ‘An American In Paris’, it will feature concert pianist Elyane Laussade.
A graduate of the Juilliard School in New York City, Elyane has made Melbourne her permanent home where she is in much demand as a soloist, concerto artist, and chamber musician.
The concert is a blend of French and American selections.
With the contrast of elegant French music and more entertaining American works, culminating in the well-loved solo version of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, this is a program not to be missed.
The concert is one of three SWM will host in coming weeks.

Allan’s message
Forget wearing your heart on your sleeve, if you want to get a message across follow Allan Edwards’ lead.
Allan popped in to the Pastoral Times office on Tuesday to show off his new shirt.
It’s already been turning a few heads in town, and the message is simple — ‘Go and get vaxxed’.
Allan did not feel the need to elaborate further, as he feels it gets his personal opinion across just fine.
More on vax rates and how to organise your vaccination can be found on page 5.
Grants up for grabs
Local community groups wishing to undertake small-scale upgrades and to purchase new equipment will have access to Commonwealth grants of between $2500 and $20,000.
Offered under the latest round of Stronger Communities Program, Federal Member for Farrer Sussan Ley said $150,000 has been allocated to her electorate.
Expressions of interest opened on October 26.
‘‘This latest funding will support up to 20 projects across Farrer, from a program which really helps strengthen social connections, builds community participation and delivers a brighter and more vibrant future for our local towns and cities.
‘‘Previous local funding has already helped numerous organisations with the purchase of things like computer equipment, cricket training nets, air-conditioning and kitchen upgrades to community facilities, outdoor exercise equipment as well as shade shelters.’’
‘‘I strongly encourage interested organisations to contact my office regarding projects important to them and their community.”
Grants can be used to cover up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs, or up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs for local governing bodies.

Year 12s make it through
Deniliquin High School has congratulated its Year 12s for getting through the year ahead of exams in two weeks.
A display of all the students’ school portraits was put up in a Cressy St shop-front (the old Rockman’s building), with streamers and balloons in the school colours of red, black and white.
The 57 pictures were headlined with the sign ‘‘DHS congratulates year 12 2021’’.
