Policing as a career was the focus of a visit to the Deniliquin Police Station by 16 Deniliquin High School students last Friday.

During this visit, the students were shown through different areas of the station and provided insight from a number of police employees in relation to the different roles within police.
The students also investigated new career pathways within the NSW Police Force, speaking with officers from a range of policing areas.
The visit allowed students, from all age groups, to explore their future career options.
The students shared a light lunch with the officers after the tour and speeches, allowing for some more in-depth, one-on-one conversations.
Keisa Egan from Deniliquin High School said the students didn’t realise there was so many career opportunities within the police.
Each student received a goody bag, which Mrs Egan said they loved.
They included brochures and information, and some small temporary tattoos.
Stella Andrews and Rebekah Bridge wore their tattoos, whcih state ‘Cops are tops’, with pride.
As a thank you for the session, the Deniliquin High School group presented the Murray River Police District with a fantastic piece of art.
It was completed by students at the school, and was provided for on-loan display within the police station.
