Leading the way will be Alex Glowrey, a passionate netballer who has put her hand up to coach the A and B-grade netball squads.
Alex has not only been a A-grade best and fairest winner but has played a role in two A-grade finals for the Rovers.
Her passion for netball also extends beyond playing on the court, as she has successfully coached numerous junior teams for the Roos.
The Picola League under-17s representative side was among them.
While it is her first time coaching seniors, Alex is no stranger to the elite coaching arena.
She recently completed her Foundation Coaching course and secured her Development Coaching Accreditation with Netball Australia last year.
Central to Alex’s coaching philosophy is the creation of a positive team culture, starting in preseason.
“I am excited to embark on the upcoming season with both familiar faces and new additions to the club,” she said.
“I’m privileged to be given this role at a fantastic club, supported by a skilled leadership group of experienced players.
Alex believes that fostering open communication, collaboration and mutual respect among players will not only enhance teamwork and coordination but also contribute to the overall success of the squad.
With a strong belief in the power of training together, Alex is set to lead the senior squads through a pre-season starting on Thursday, January 18.
The regimen will include diverse fitness-based sessions, incorporating outdoor circuits, boxing and dynamic flow yoga classes as part of training.
“Together we are geared up for a successful and fun season ahead.”
A line-up of more great netballers has been appointed to other coaching roles within the club, but there is still a vacancy for the coach of the C-grade side.
Leading C-reserve in 2024 will be Nicole Felmingham. Assisting her will be Catie Lewis.
The under-17s will be coached by Gabby Barlow and assistant coach Abbey Wills.
Nerisa Wills will coach the under-15s, Chloe Way takes charge of the under-13s, and Suzie Behsman and Shannon Bulmer will co-coach the under-11s.
Also taking a lead role for the Rovers netballers will be Natalie Sampson, who is the netball junior development officer.
Rovers netball coordinator Nicky Bermingham said the club is invigorated after the success of last year, and also by all the new facilities and equipment around the club.
“I am excited for season 2024,” she said.
“We’ll start the season refreshed and revitalised with lots of ‘new’ around - new dresses, a new grandstand, new coaches and our long awaited new courts.”
Preseason training details and information regarding try-outs in early February will be shared on the Deniliquin Rovers Football and Netball Facebook page.
