Services and activities commemorating the sacrifices made by ANZACs in war and peacekeeping will be held across several communities in the Edward River and Murray River councils.
With the number of Diggers participating in marches dwindling, Deniliquin RSL Sub-branch president John Harris said he would love to see relatives take their place.
Those with access to medals are encouraged to wear them with pride.
“The sub-branch would be appreciative of anyone who wears and displays the medals of relatives and friends to the ANZAC services.
“These should be worn on the right.
“I encourage the wearing of the medals as a great way to offer respect and remembrance for those to whom the medals were originally awarded.
“I believe it is the ultimate show of esteem when medals are proudly worn and aired.”
