The awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals and community organisations in our region.
Nominees and recipients will be celebrated at a special ceremony on Australia Day, lead by Edward River Mayor Ashley Hall.
Nominations close Friday, January 6.
“These awards provide a great opportunity to recognise the deserving individuals who have made a real difference in our community throughout the past twelve months,” Cr Hall said.
“It’s important to celebrate those whose dedication and contributions build up our community and have a lasting impact; and to ensure they feel valued for the time and effort they put in.”
In 2025, council will recognise the outstanding contributions from local community members and organisations across nine categories:
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Sports Award
• Junior Sports Award
• Arts & Culture Award
• Junior Arts & Culture Award
• Community Event of the Year
• Community Group of the Year
• Environmental Citizen of the Year (the Bill & Elwyn Hermiston Memorial Award)
Nominations will be assessed by council’s Australia Day Awards Assessment Panel.
