Wine aficionados and art lovers gathered at Colbinabbin’s silos on Sunday, May 5, to sit, sip, picnic and take in the gorgeous views of the silo art for this year’s Silo Art Picnic.

About 350 attendees flocked to the silos on a sunny Sunday afternoon and were met with a complimentary wine glass included in the price of a ticket so they could taste the region’s finest wines.
Attendees were treated to the delicious wines from Humis Vineyard, Shiraz Republic, Hennings Vineyard, Whistling Eagle Vineyard, Ellis Wines, Peregrine Ridge, Silver Spoon Estate, Heathcote Tellurian, Kennedy Vineyard, Colbinabbin Estate, Vinea Marson Vineyard and Pook Road Vineyard.
Music filled the air during the day, with a performance by the Rushworth District Concert Band, who performed songs such as Our Director March, Over the Rainbow, When I Was 64 and Oh, Pretty Woman.
The local band was the perfect precursor to the day’s special guest, Wilbur Wilde.
Mr Wilde is a musician, performer, and radio presenter best known for his work as a house band member on the popular TV show Hey, Hey It’s Saturday.
Mr Wilde and his accompanying band, The Troublemakers, were excited to make a special appearance.
That excitement was apparent in his incredible performance, which saw audiences enjoy Daddy Cool arrangements and familiar songs such as The Wanderer.

Silo Art Project project manager Sadie Vale said the event was a “complete success.”
“The weather was amazing, the vineyards set up their stalls incredibly and the most important thing was that it was an event for community socialising – and we had a lot of that,” she said.
“It was a terrific, happy community day, and it wasn’t just town people from Colby, we had many people from across different towns in the mix and socialising with everyone else, and I think they really felt the Colby spirit.
“We’re really proud to have held this event so successfully for two years running now.”
