This year, the Deni Ute Muster had just over 20,000 people at the event which is one of our larger crowds over the event’s history.
This figure includes around 1000 volunteers, leading up to, over and post event, of which around half are from our local community.
This speaks volumes about the local community and the commitment towards the continuing success of our great event. Thank you.
Deni Play On The Plains Ltd, which organises the Deni Ute Muster, is a not-for-profit organisation with six volunteer directors who work very closely with our general manager Vicky Lowry and a small group of talented and committed staff who once again have done amazing things to make the event the success it was this year.
The Deni Ute Muster has increasingly transformed into a family-friendly event, allowing children under 13 to attend for free alongside their families.
There is an extensive program of free entertainment specifically designed for this age group, ensuring that the entire family enjoys a fantastic time in Deniliquin.
Offering free admission for young children has significantly contributed to the ongoing success of the Deni Ute Muster, with participation from this younger demographic continuing to rise each year.
For many families, the Deni Ute Muster weekend is now a yearly tradition, as they can depend on a variety of new entertainment options in a safe environment.
Our board and staff work very closely leading up to and during the event with our emergency service providers who also take a proactive role in the successful operation of the event with the safety of everyone the most important theme.
These providers include the NSW Police, NSW Fire & Rescue, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW VRA, Medical Edge along with our security, Reddawn and Risk Management Services, Sheridan Consulting.
During the Deni Ute Muster we have seven scheduled meetings, with all of these services together in the one room.
Thanks to all of these providers for committing to the success of our event and town.
Also, I would like to acknowledge the support of the many local clubs, charities and organisations who, whilst assisting in volunteering can at the same time raise much needed funds over the weekend for their organisations which go back into our great town.
The support of Edward River Council along with Destinations NSW and state and federal government through grants has been invaluable to our organisations continuing success.
Basically, thank you to everyone who has been involved - staff, patrons, volunteers, vendors, entertainers, providers and the list goes on.
I am so proud of what the Deni Ute Muster has been able to achieve over the years in this great town in which we choose to live.
Thank you.
Yours etc.
