A ticket from Dahlsens Mitre 10 with Louella’s name on it was drawn in the second of five ‘Have Yourself A Very Local Christmas’ giveaways on Friday.
It earned them a $1000 Do It In Deni gift card, just in time for Christmas.
“I do always shop local when I can, and I enter tickets in the Pastoral Times promotion every year,” Louella said.
“But this is the first time I have won anything.
“I was pretty excited when I was told.”
Dahlsen’s Mitre 10 manager Katrina Knuckey said it was nice to see one of their regular customers take home a prize in the promotion.
“Louella is a long time customer of Mitre 10, so it is so pleasing,” she said.
The aim of the ‘Have Yourself A Very Local Christmas’ promotion is to encourage people to shop local ahead of Christmas, and support local businesses.
“I would like to remind everyone to shop local so our town can thrive,” Katrina said.
“The more you support local businesses, the more we can support our community groups, schools and the community as a whole.”
Local shoppers are rewarded for every $20 spent at ‘Have Yourself A Very Local Christmas’ participating businesses in the lead up to Christmas, up to a maximum of 10 tickets per transaction.
There are three more $1000 Do It In Deni gift cards to be won, drawn each Friday at 3pm.
So get spending, fill out those tickets and return them to entry boxes at the participating businesses before noon each Friday.
All tickets earned will remain in the barrel for the life of the promotion, except those plucked each week.
