A little piece of Deni has been sent home with NSW Deputy Premier Paul Toole following his visit to the region this week.

Taking a break from business and having a little bit of fun, Edward River Council Mayor Peta Betts presented Mr Toole with a gift pack made up of Deni branded gear from the Naponda Community Store.
He could not wait to don his ‘I know someone from Deni’ graphic tee, and snap a few fun pics in front of the new What’s On in Deni signage.

Rovers footy trip
The Deniliquin Rovers thirds side were treated to a trip to Melbourne at the weekend to watch the footy, as Rovers had a club bye.
They took the bus to Marvel Stadium to watch Carlton take on the Dockers.
The team enjoyed the thrilling match, which resulted in a 31-point win for Carlton.
The young Rovers have another day off this Saturday, thanks to a league wide bye.
The free weekend luckily coincides with the start of the NSW school holidays.
Free flu shots extended
Free flu shots for NSW residents will be extended until July 17, amid concerns vaccination rates are still not where they should be.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard said the latest data shows only one in four children aged under five has had a flu shot, while the figures are even lower for kids aged five to 15.
Mr Hazzard urged families to use the school holidays to book in for a free flu shot.
“It only takes a few minutes to get a flu jab but that time could mean the difference between you or one of your loved ones ending up in ICU so please, book in today,” Mr Hazzard said.

In an effort to make old copies of the Deniliquin Pastoral Times available on Trove for those interested in the history of Deniliquin and its residents, The Deniliquin & District Pastoral Times Digitisation Project — convened by Deniliquin Genealogy Society president Val Hardman — is asking for donations to continue the progression of the digitisation of our paper.
Donations can be made in person at the Deniliquin Library, Deniliquin Bendigo Bank, or to a member of the Deniliquin Genealogy Society (which operates out of the library).
Donations can also be made by direct transfer to BSB 633 000 Account Number 192 631 687. Please include your name, and notify the group of your direct transfer donation by email to secretarydenigs@gmail.com.
