Although the Matildas didn’t come away with the win in Wednesday’s game against England, their magic still lives on.

Local soccer enthusiast Matt Crothers was among the fanfare in Federation Square, decked out in Matildas gear to cheer the home team on.
Unfortunately England came out victorious with a 3-1 win.
Nothing could take away from the magic of a Sam Kerr goal which was simply brilliant.
Matilda mania has taken over arenas, clubs and private lounge rooms, with Aussies watching every moment whether they were a soccer fan or not.
The team have climbed to great heights and Australia could not be prouder.
The country will be tuned in again to watch their play off for third place, and to another quality game on home soil.

Have you heard of the Deniliquin Structure?
It could be the largest crater ever and it’s right here under the Deniliquin region.
Geologist Andrew Glikson has research to indicate an epic asteroid crater could be right under us.
All the evidence points to it being the largest known on the planet, by a huge margin.
Known as the Deniliquin Structure, Glikson estimates in his study, published in the journal Tectonophysics, that it is more than 320 miles in diameter.
It would dwarf the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs.
The Deniliquin Structure’s existence was first proposed in the late 1990s by Tony Yates, who co-authored this latest study, based on magnetic patterns.
The next stage for scientists is to test their theory, and this can only be achieved by drilling down for solid proof.
We’ll all be watching that one with keen interest.
Jackson still chasing eight seconds
You may remember we did a feature story on local rodeo competitor Jackson Jefferies ahead of the Deniliquin Rodeo earlier this year.
The rush of bull riding is still deeply implanted in Jackson, who has been chasing his dreams up north.
He is yet to stay on for that elusive eight seconds, but boy he’s been getting close.
The most recent rides have been at Curry and Mt Isa, and he is still following the rodeo circuit.
In regards to progress he said, “didn’t get my bulls covered, but learnt a lot”.
He also thanked those who have helped him along the way and is looking forward to his next ride ... where ever that may take him.
