Light shone on Fleming fundraiser

This year’s recipient of the Community Event of the Year Award was the Fleming Partners Walk 4 Cancer fundraiser.

This meaningful community fundraising event allowed those affected by brain cancer to increase awareness, honour loved ones who lost their battle, and raise valuable funds for Cure Brain Cancer.

Leanne Mulham accepted the award on behalf of the accountant firm.

“Local families impacted by brain cancer quickly got on board to support the fundraising day - teams were formed and the fundraising walk and activities took place on a very cold day on May 7 at Deniliquin Rotary Park,” the citation read.

“With more than 500 people in attendance, it was a wonderful opportunity for those participating to be together and support those who have lost loved ones and those currently battling brain cancer.

“An amazing $147,000 was raised through this incredible community initiative.”

While this was not the first time Fleming Partners had hosted a community fundraising event, this was one close to the hearts of the whole team.

It was organised following the firm’s partner Graeme McKindlay’s shock brain cancer diagnosis.

Graeme lost his battle to the disease in August 2023.
