The two-day event is a chance for both beginner and experienced artists to learn from one of Australia’s most esteemed painters and teachers.
Mr Paterson is a professional and versatile artist with more than 40 years of experience in watercolour, pastel and oil painting.
He is widely acknowledged for his long-practised, individual technique which expresses mood, design and feeling toward each subject, especially in his ‘en plein air’ landscape paintings.
The upcoming workshop in Deniliquin is a rare chance to learn from Ross’ extensive knowledge and experience.
Participants will benefit from his engaging teaching style and comprehensive approach, gaining valuable insights into the art of oil painting.
Mr Paterson’s visit is as part of the Edward River Art Society visiting artist workshop series, which brings talented artists to Deniliquin to share their skills.
ERAS president Louise Graham has been overwhelmed by the positive response to this year’s workshops.
“We’ve found that the participants have not only loved learning new skills and techniques, but have simply enjoyed spending time being creative in a friendly environment with other people,” she said.
“It is not often you get a chance to focus on a medium like oil, especially with someone as experienced as Ross, so it will be another fabulous artistic weekend.”
The oil painting workshop will take place at the Deniliquin Multi Arts Centre in Cressy St next Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this workshop promises to be an enriching experience for all artists.
