Located in the NSW Department of Education’s eastern zone, the school welcomed children back yesterday.
Staff spent the previous two days preparing for their arrival and working on their own professional development with pupil free days.
At Mayrung in particular, two new Kindergarten students have been welcomed into the fold - Lachie Spencer and Bre Worker.
The school has also welcomed Amber (Year 1) and Hunter (Year 2) Ward into the school community for the first time.
The new additions bring the school’s total number of students to 25 in 2024.
They are supported by three teachers - including Teena Irwin joining the school this year - and three part-time school learning support officers.
All Deniliquin schools are in the western education region, and return to the classroom next week.
