Emergency services were called to a River St address just to find the home well alight.
As the Pastoral Times went to print, firefighters were still on scene.
NSW Fire + Rescue media confirmed the emergency call came in about 10am.
“The house was fully involved on arrival, and all persons were out,” the media spokesperson said.
An hour later, firefighters were still utilising “offensive strategy” to quell the blaze, meaning fighting the fire from inside the structure.
Other firefighters were applying water to the outside of the home at the same time as when the Pastoral Times was in attendance.
The FRNSW spokesperson said at least 12 firefighters were on scene at 11am, with others possibly arriving soon after.
Assisting the Deniliquin FRNSW crews was a FRNSW crew from Finley, with the Rural Fire Service later arriving to support them in their efforts.
Essential Energy was called to disconnect the power, and Deniliquin Police provided traffic control and other support.
