Acting CEO Sarah Ryan said council has taken action to reduce face-to-face opening hours at customer service locations with the view to becoming more efficient over the longer term.
“While this action will not reduce hours of our employees, it will free up a set number of hours each week for current staff to undertake other tasks,” she said.
“This will include work on services that are either lacking attention or have been added to council’s growing service list by way of cost-shifting from other tiers of government or community expectations.
“The intention is to address this backlog without having to add to our employee costs.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding as we transition to the new hours.”
The new hours, starting from next year, are listed below by site:
• Moama Main Administration Office, Perricoota Rd: Monday to Friday - 10am to 4pm.
• Barham office: Monday - Closed; Tuesday to Friday - 10am to 4pm.
• Moulamein Business Centre: Monday - Closed; Tuesday to Thursday - 9.30am to 1pm; Friday - Closed.
• Mathoura Visitor and Business Center (and Library): Monday to Thursday - 10am to 4pm; Friday - closed.
