Both girls performed exceptionally at state and national titles last month, which earned them both spots in the 2024 Junior World squad.
Erica was also selected in the 2022 Junior World Team, which will head to Chile to compete in the World Titles from January 5 to 8, 2023.
Competing in all open events of trick, slalom and jump, Erica won gold in all three events at the state titles in Port Macquarie and won silver in trick at nationals in Moama with a score of 5210 points.
Laura impressively followed suit in the under-12 girls’ section, winning gold in trick and silver in slalom for the state titles and silver in trick for nationals with a score of 4610 points.
Erica said she was really excited to hear her name announced in the 2022 Junior World Team and travel to Chile next year.
“The only place I have travelled to overseas is New Zealand, so I’m looking forward to it,” she said.
While the girls won’t be travelling together to Chile next year, they are excited to continue their waterskiing journey alongside each other for many years to come.
Erica said for them both to have been selected in the 2024 Junior World Squad and going to all their competitions together has been a “really fun” experience.
Erica is now ranked eighth in the world overall in her age group, third in trick, 11th in slalom and 11th in jump.
