The fifth annual Harry Potter Book Night will be celebrated across the world on Thursday, February 7.
Shepparton Library’s children and youth services librarian Emma Kennedy said they would celebrate by hosting an unforgettable afternoon themed around Hogwarts.
‘‘Wear your most magical outfit or come dressed as your favourite Hogwarts character,’’ Ms Kennedy said.
‘‘We will enjoy an afternoon of beastly games, readings from our favourite Harry Potter books and the Hidden Hogwarts Quiz!
‘‘It all begins when the Sorting Hat decides which house you belong to.
‘‘Each house will then be competing for house points throughout the afternoon to see who will win the 2019 Wizard Cup.’’
The event is free and for the entire family, celebrating a series that continues to capture the imagination of children and adults alike.
‘‘We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centres throughout the world to celebrate the fifth Harry Potter Book Night,’’ Ms Kennedy said.
The fun starts at 4.30pm and will continue until 6pm at the Shepparton Library on February 7.
The event was sponsored by the Friends of the Shepparton Library.
