Goulburn Valley allied health assistants to share day together

Despite COVID-19 moving Allied Health Assistants’ Day online this year, locals in the industry are invited to experience the event together at Shepparton’s Neuro Spark Rehab.

It’s the sixth annual AHA Day run by Melbourne’s Monash Health, delivering professional development opportunities to AHAs working in the industry.

Neuro Spark Rehab allied health assistant lead Rachel Rigbye said her idea was to bring local AHAs from both the public and private health sectors together to experience the day together.

“Usually allied health assistants in public health and private health don’t have anything to do with each other,” she said.

“It’s all about learning new things, new areas and training we haven’t heard of.

“All allied health assistants from hospitals and clinics in the area are invited to join us, and we’ve found some sponsors for the day; Willprint has given us some stationery and Mitchell St takeaway is going to provide lunch.”

Ms Rigbye has also created the Facebook group Allied Health Assistants GV.

“The idea is we can engage with each other, co-ordinate and share resources, do training together and share the personal development we do as AHAs,” she said.
