Year 12s dress-up for charity
Deniliquin High School’s outgoing Year 12 students took part in their annual dress-up auction for charity on Tuesday.
It was part of their final week of structured learning before sitting HSC exams next term.
Current school vice-captain Darby Watson was the auctioneer on the day, and all funds raised by the current Year 12 cohort will be donated to the Westmead Children’s Hospital.
The Year 12s dressed up in their finest costumes, strutted their stuff on stage and were bid upon.
Among the ‘items’ for sale were Smurfs, livestock, dinosaurs and more.
The final fundraising tally was $1400.
We’ll bring you more photos from the dress up day in Tuesday’s edition.

Have your say
The Mid-Murray Zone Rural Fire Service is seeking feedback on the draft Bushfire Risk Management Plan.
The document identifies two main things - bushfire risk to communities, and ways of reducing the impact of fires across an area to keep people safe and protect the things we value.
The Mid-Murray Bush Fire Management Committee, which is made up of a number of agencies and stakeholders, wants your feedback.
“By planning together, we will help shape the bushfire risk management plan for this area for the next five years,” it said.
You can read the plan at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/managing-bush-fire-risk/bush-fire-management-committees/mid-murray-zone.
The goal is to protect lives, homes, businesses, agriculture, the environment and other important things in this area.
Copies are also available from the Mid Murray Zone Fire Control Centre, Edward River Council Customer Service Centre, Mathoura Visitor & Business Centre and the Murray River Council’s Moama office.
Where possible, submissions on the draft BFRMP should be submitted through the online portal listed above. Written submissions can also be sent to the BFMC Executive Officer by email at MidMurray.Zone@rfs.nsw.gov.au or by post to Mid Murray Zone FCC, PO Box 109, Deniliquin.
