A large group gathered at the Deniliquin RSL Club on Friday for Gloria Griffiths’ 80th birthday.

The luncheon, held on Gloria’s actual birthday, was held in the Deniliquin RSL Club’s Brasserie.

It was attended by friends and family mostly from the local area, but with some making the trip from Berrigan, Echuca and Tongala.

One special friend - Kim Bardenhagen - even made the trip from Tasmania to be here for the special occasion.

Gloria and Kim have been friends for about 50 years, and Kim was bridesmaid when Gloria married husband Phil.

After the meal, speeches we made by Phil and family friend Anita Wilson and guests enjoyed a slice of a very large cake made just for Gloria on her special day.
