As part of the Country Education Foundation’s second annual Boot Bash, businesses, organisations and groups are being invited to host a fundraiser.
All money raised from local events will go to the CEF Edward River Region, to support local youth in their post-secondary schooling goals.
CEFERR committee member Mel Broadbent said the Boot Bash is officially on March 14, but events can be held any time in March.
“The event is not only about fundraising, it’s also about raising awareness of the Country Education Foundation and what we do,” she said.
“We’d like to get as many businesses and groups involved, who can contact us if they want to be involved.
“You can fundraise is any way you like, and we can arrange to have one of our committee members come along and explain what we do.”
Fellow CEFERR committee member Mardi Chartres said Deniliquin High School and Intereach have already committed to hosting Boot Bash events, and others are encouraged to get on board.
“Your fundraising day could be as simple as people bringing in a gold coin donation and wearing their boots.
“Or you could have a barbecue, a bake sale or a morning tea,”
Ms Broadbent said fundraising kits are available from the committee, or by going to https://www.cefbootbash.org.au/fundraising-toolkit.
Grants provided by the CEFERR are available to young people from the communities of Deniliquin, Conargo, Blighty, Mayrung, Pretty Pine, Wanganella and Booroorban.
Grants are designed to reimburse students for a diverse range of education and career pursuits including apprenticeships, traineeships, cadetships, degrees, diplomas and certificate level studies or entry careers.
The grant amount each year is dependent on sponsorships, donations and community fundraising.
