Frida Gallpen-Brown demonstrated “outstanding academic achievement” throughout 2024 to be named Dux of Deniliquin North Public School.

Frida is a quiet achiever who is particularly competitive in all aspects of English.
Frida ranked first overall in English, including first in writing, reading comprehension, speaking and listening, vocabulary and grammar.
She also ranked first overall in history/geography and science.
A new award presented by Deni North this year was the Dedication to Music and Performance Award, which was won by Miles Allitt.
The award was created thanks to sponsorship from the Nillson, Campbell and Allitt families, and was presented to Miles by his Groovy Dudes bandmate and former Deni North student Darcy Nilsson.
Music also played a big part in the presentation celebrations themselves, with a performance from the school band.
There were also two slideshows with highlights from the year, and a ‘Now and Then’ slideshow of the graduating Year 6 class.
In a final farewell to the school, the Year 6 class concluded the ceremony with a singing performance of their own.
In addition to saying goodbye to the Year 6 students, the school community also farewelled a number of staff during presentation day.
Teacher Chris Downing has retired, and student support officer Anna Suckling’s contract with Deni North concluded.
The school’s cleaner Laurie Nelson, who made headlines locally and with ABC Riverina for her uplifting carpet art this year, was also farewelled. She is moving to South Australia.
