Playing at Barooga, a number of teams got a win to start the year off on the right foot.
A-grade: Deni Rams 44 def Barooga 30.
A-grade started their 2025 season strong with a solid win over Barooga.
Deni set the tone early, jumping out to an eight-goal lead by quarter time and never looked back.
A strong third quarter saw them extend the margin significantly, making it too tough for Barooga to recover.
In the midcourt, Makhaya Mitsch, Amelia Seignior, and Keely Mitsch combined well to drive play forward with speed and control, linking beautifully with the attack.
Despite tight defensive efforts from Barooga, Ella Harvey, Tess Parsons, and Ellie Parks stayed composed and worked hard to find space and convert under pressure.
Deni’s defensive pressure was a standout, with Ella Park and Emma Parks delivering strong intercepts and keeping Barooga under constant pressure in their attacking third.
A great all-round team performance to kick off the season with confidence.

B-grade: Deni Rams 52 def Barooga 22.
The Ram's B-grade side made an impressive start to the season on Saturday, with some of our players combining on court for the first time.
Lucy Pitt proved a headache for our opponents with a solid game in defence, taking every opportunity to pull in rebounds.
The ball was transitioned well through the mid-court into our goal circle with an accurate day in the goal ring by Stella White.

What a great first game for our newly formed team!
While the scoreboard may not have gone our way, it certainly didn’t reflect the grit and determination shown out on court.
Facing a strong and physical opponent, the team held their heads high and delivered a solid performance full of effort and enthusiasm.
Standing tall in the shooting ring despite heavy defensive pressure, they held their ground and kept battling from start to finish, we’re excited to see what the rest of the season brings.

C-reserve: Barooga 45 def Deni Rams 19.
The Deniliquin Rams C-Reserve team took to the court on Saturday with plenty of enthusiasm and heart, despite a challenging result against a strong Barooga side, going down 45–19.
With several players stepping up to senior netball for the first time, the team showed great composure and determination throughout the game.
They held their own under pressure, demonstrating glimpses of exciting potential and a willingness to fight for every ball.
A tough day on the scoreboard, but the foundations for this young side are taking shape.
As connections continue to grow and confidence builds, this team is sure to find its rhythm. Watch this space, there’s lots to come from this spirited group!

Under-17s: Deni Rams 70 def Barooga 20.
The Ram's under-17 team had a sensational season opening match against Barooga on Saturday.
It was difficult to pick fault with a consistent game by all eight players.
The girls' speed proved a problem for the opposition, with Shontai O’Callaghan showing off her agility and versatility.
A consistent, solid game in defence by Ava Marshall, who was supported by Alice Circuitt and a hard working mid-court defence saw numerous turnovers.
Phoebe Newman also showed her versatility on court and accuracy in goals.

Under-15s: Deni Rams 41 def Barooga 11.
A strong start to the season with a four-quarter effort from the team.
All girls adjusted well to positional changes, providing full court pressure and making the most of all opportunities in attack.
Josie Offord was solid in defence, creating numerous turnovers and strong leads down the court.
Arielle Hillier and Sarah Circuitt combined well together in the goal ring, creating space and shooting accurately.

Under-13s: Barooga 15 def Deni Rams 10.
What an amazing first hit-out for the girls, they came together beautifully in their first game and showed some serious promise for the season ahead.
Killarni Macdonald and Stella Chadderton were electric in the goal circle, forming a smooth and confident shooting combination, while Aleaha Leetham and Lexi Maher were absolute engines in attack, feeding the ball with flair and driving hard through the court.
In defence, Julia Smith was a standout, wearing down her opponent with grit and determination, creating countless opportunities for her teammates with her relentless defensive pressure and never say die attitude.
Charlotte Gatacre made life tough for her opponent with her strong presence and pressure on her opponent.
Sophie impressed with her team-first mindset, always the first to contest those loose balls and support her teammates!

Under-11s: Not scored.
What an impressive start to the season for our U11s, the girls lit up the court with incredible teamwork and dazzling skill from the very first whistle to the final siren.
In the opening quarter, Stella Butcher and Isla Moodie worked seamlessly together in the goal circle, moving with confidence and creativity to keep the momentum flowing.
Stevie Williams and Aysha Bartlett were exceptional in defence, forcing multiple turnovers and disrupting the opposition's play.
In the second quarter, Indi Hillier’s excellent feeding into the attacking ring stood out, while Maggie Burge and Claire Menadue made some quick turnovers to regain possession.
The third quarter showcased consistency in our teamwork and communication across the court.
Isla and Stella moved well in the attacking ring, and the entire team maintained their focus.
In the final quarter, the girls demonstrated impressive ball movement and strong passages of play through the mid-court to close out the game.
