‘Fail to quit’ fine

A 25 year-old Victorian man has been fined for failing to quit a Deniliquin licensed premises.

Police were called to the hotel about 10.50pm Friday last week after reports a man was refusing to leave when asked by staff.

After speaking to the man, police conducted a search and allegedly found him in possession of a prohibited drug.

The man was issued with a penalty notice for refusing to leave the hotel, and a court attendance notice regarding the alleged drug possession.

Break-ins reported

Police are appealing for information in relation to two separate break-ins.

In one incident, a car parked in Jones Ave, Deniliquin was broken into between 4.30pm last Friday and 9.30am Saturday.

A number of items were removed from the car, but were located a short distance away.

A break-in at a Maher St home in Deniliquin was reported on Monday.

While it appears no property was taken, police are asking anyone who witnessed anything in the area on Sunday or Monday to come forward.
