Over 70 musicians from all over NSW performed several songs as part of a free concert that was hosted by South West Music inside the Deniliquin town hall.
After finishing their performance members of the Sydney Youth Orchestra took time to give the kids a music lesson.
They educated the students from Edward Public School on the various instrument families and how they come together to make up an orchestra.
Students were also given the opportunity to try their hand at conducting the orchestra and playing a few instruments.

Council correction
Edward River Council advises that information they supplied for the “$2m post-flood makeover” story on Tuesday, June 27 was incorrect.
The McLean Beach project is grant funded from Round two of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program.
The current contract amount is approximately $200,000. The $2m reported refers to grant funding received to date by Edward River Council for flood related works.
The error was made by Edward River Council, not the Pastoral Times.
Free Film
A film screening is being held in Deniliquin next week.
This coming Monday, July 3, a free screening of the film ‘Watandar, My Countryman’ will be held in the town hall where the screening will begin a 7pm.
The Edward River Library opened its doors to readers again on Wednesday.
The library had been temporarily closed for three weeks while it was undergoing renovations to its interior, but at last it has reopened in time for the school holidays.
All of the shelves have been reassembled and the books have been sorted back in to their rightful places, ready to read.
New areas have also been put together within the library, including multiple new reading corners.
Staff at the library are encouraging all to come in and say hello, and remind those who borrowed books before the library’s temporary closure to return them on time.
