In doing so, members of the school community are expected to face the dunk tank as part of the DYI Big Freeze.
It will be hosted on July 5 and three teachers have already been nominated to face the daunting dip - Alex Hay, Vanessa Parr and Daryl Bird.
The fundraiser is being organised by the Student Representative Council, and will be a great way to celebrate the last day of the term.
Becoming somewhat of a legacy item, the first DIY Big Freeze event was held by Finley High’s SRC four years ago.
Each SRC group since has carried it on, running their own events and raising funds for the cause.
The school community say this year’s goal of $10,000 would represent an improvement of last year’s $7000 effort.
The school has raised more than $4000 so far.
Mrs Parr said fundraising to date has included lunchtime footy kicking competitions, bake sales and raffles for a prize draw raising funds in the lead up to the event.
Still to come is the MND Trivia Night on June 28, where guests will participate in ten rounds of trivia and other fun activities.
The entry fee is $10, and grazing platters and tables can be pre-booked by contacting the school.
The school is also cashing in recyclables at Return and Earn collection points for 10 cents per receptacle, and welcomes donations of recyclables from the community to add to the total.
Collection shuttles are located adjacent the school hall.
Fundraising to date has also included the sale of FightMND beanies and socks.
The life expectancy of someone diagnosed with MND is 27 months, a startlingly short span of time from diagnosis.
It is a disease that affects the motor neurons, found mostly in the brain and spine.
These motor neurons tell our muscles what to do and if and when someone has MND their movement and physical capacity will be affected, among other symptoms.
