I’d like to see our area work closer together to attract business, industry and tourism to help ‘weatherproof’ our local businesses and economy.
With a masters degree in communication and a professional background in public relations, health, energy, irrigation and small business, I have a wide range of experience that qualifies me to stand for council.
This includes raising millions of dollars for cancer support and research through my time at the NSW Cancer Council, to high level corporate affairs positions with Greater Southern Area Health Service - a division of NSW Health (now MLHD) and Essential Energy, and local roles with Murray Irrigation and the Deniliquin Business Chamber.
I envision a more united council that engages in respectful and professional discourse where dissent is focused on the issue at hand and not personality.
My speciality in crises and issues management means I’m well-equipped to handle contentious issues and form respectful, valuable relationships with the media to improve community communication and consultation efforts.
With a partner in local law enforcement, I’d also like to see our community work closer with the relevant agencies to address many of the social issues that keep our men and women in blue, busy.
I believe that my experience, dedication, and passion for the community make me a strong candidate for the Edward River Council elections and ask you to ‘vote 1’ Donna on Saturday.
