During this period, few people have made a greater contribution to Intereach than Di Rinaldi — the former health services manager of Deniliquin Hospital.
Mrs Rinaldi has seen the growth unfold during an 18 year tenure on the organisation’s board of directors, and in more recent times as the chair of its audit, risk, compliance and finance sub-committee.
As such, it was with regret that Intereach chair Rob Brown accepted Mrs Rinaldi’s resignation from the board last Friday.
‘‘Di has made an outstanding contribution to Intereach, including nearly 20 years as a member of our board,’’ Mr Brown said.
‘‘During this time the organisation has gone from strength to strength.
‘‘Her contribution has been appreciated by numerous fellow board members, staff and, of course, the many participants who have received the benefit from services provided by Intereach.’’
Mrs Rinaldi has always been committed to providing rural and remote people with services and support that can help them develop strong communities.
She believes rural areas are entitled to receive similar services to metropolitan areas, or be given the opportunity to access them without increases in costs and damage to the family unit by accessing these services.
Mr Brown said the board of directors would be seeking a replacement director in the near future.
Intereach, which started from humble beginnings in Deniliquin, now operates across 17 offices in the Murray and Riverina regions of NSW, northern and central Victoria and the Mallee.
It has a total staff of more than 470.
