The total yarding was down 3900 head on last fortnight, with 2700 sheep and 2900 lambs presented for sale this week.
It had a dearer outcome over any reasonable trade, and heavy young lambs and sheep.
While the yarding was mixed for quality, the regular group of buyers appeared keen for some numbers.
There wasn’t a lot of weight available, and any of the heavier young lambs tended to be in small penlots.
The lead run of lambs in the 26-30kg carcase weight range from $237 to a top of $260 to comfortably track over 800c/kg carcase weight.
Better quality medium trade lambs sold from $172 to $195/head, to also trend at more than 800c/kg.
Plainer and odd lots of trade lambs sold from $155 to $164 to processors.
Light lambs made mostly $90 to $130/head, selling to a mix of restockers and MK processing orders.
The sheep sale was also stronger, including for heavier sheep which had an additional processing order operating.
Merino ewes in a skin sold to $124, and some very big meat ewes to $122/head.
The general run of sheep went for $60 to $110/head, at estimated rates of 300c to 350c/kg over the better lines of mutton.
