Despite the limited and mixed offering, the core group of buyers gave robust support to the better presented penlots of lambs and sheep, creating a much dearer trend than a fortnight ago.
There wasn’t a lot of weight or condition in the lamb run.
The best trade types sold to $180 and the general run was from $142 to $175/head.
Lighter processing lambs were $57 to $115/head.
The better presented lambs tracked over 700c/kg carcase weight to show a big lift on a fortnight ago.
Bidding stepped-up in the sheep run with a line of younger Merino wethers selling to $184.20 to top the sale.
Heavy crossbred ewes sold to $142.
There was mutton sales above 450c/kg at times.
