This generous donation was raised through a combination of player fees being donated and proceeds from a raffle, underscoring the spirit of giving within the local sporting community.
President Barb Haigh expressed her gratitude to the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort for their ongoing support in providing and maintaining the club's croquet court.
"We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful facility, and the Golf Club's commitment to our club has made this possible," she said.
She also extended a special thank you to Tim Roadley from Bunnings Yarrawonga for his generous contribution of raffle prizes, which played a key role in raising the funds.
The Community Heart Appeal aims to improve health services and resources at Yarrawonga Health, an effort that will directly benefit many within the local community.
Robin Haberecht warmly received the donation, acknowledging the Croquet Club's dedication.
"This generous donation is a fantastic example of community groups coming together to support one another,” Ms Haberecht said.
“The funds raised will make a real difference to initiatives here at Yarrawonga Health."
Barb Haigh spoke passionately about the importance of local organisations stepping up to support causes like the Community Heart Appeal.
"It's not just about the game—it’s about being part of something bigger, making a difference, and showing that we care for the wellbeing of everyone in our community," Ms Haigh said.
With this contribution, the YMGCR Croquet Club exemplifies how small efforts can come together to make a significant impact.
The community spirit of Yarrawonga is alive and well, with local clubs, businesses, and individuals coming together to give back and ensure a healthier future for all.
