Police are appealing for information to locate one stolen car, and to locate another which was involved in a high speed chase with police in Deniliquin during a separate incident.
Police also received numerous reports on Sunday of cars being targeted by thieves and would-be thieves.
It follows a number of weeks when car thefts and residential and business break-ins have been reported.
It has prompted police to again urge locals to be extra vigilant, especially in the lead up to Christmas.
The stolen car was reported missing from a Mathoura home on Friday.
It was taken after a home in the retirement living complex was broken into, and the keys stolen.
Also missing from the home is an iPhone 11, and a purse containing bank and credit cards and $30 in cash.
Murray River Police District Acting Inspector Mitch Lalor said it appears the intruder entered the home via a window between 11.30pm on Thursday and 1.30am Friday.
At the time of going to print, the white Ford Eco Sport removed from the property was still missing.
The other car police are seeking is a black Subaru Impreza.
It is alleged police tried to stop the car in Hardinge St, Deniliquin about 5pm Saturday due to an alleged speeding offence.
“The car led police on a high speed chance toward the highway, reaching estimated speeds of 180km/h once in the 100km/h zone,” Act Insp Lalor reported.
“Police terminated the chase on Barham Rd due to public safety concerns.”
Police also received four reports of stealing from motor vehicles, with Act Insp Lalor saying they were in the Poictiers St, Gillespie Crt and Hunter St areas.
But he said a pattern was emerging in the types of vehicles targeted.
“Each of them was a work vehicle or tradie ute, with tools in the back.
“All but one reported items missing.
“It is important that you secure your vehicles and belongings to try and prevent opportunistic thefts.”
One other theft was reported over the weekend, from the Murray River Council depot at Koraleigh.
An air-conditioning unit was removed from the ute sometime between Wednesday and Sunday.
