You may know me as the wife of Darren and mum of Mel and Chloe (and our two dogs and cats!).
Perhaps even as the manager at St George Bank and, as of recently, also Westpac Bank.
What you may not know, however, is that I’m also the president of the Deni Business Chamber and have been a member for the past 12 years.
I am very passionate about my community and the flow-on effects of shopping local when we can.
It was great to see this celebrated at the recent Deniliquin Business Awards – especially after a two-year hiatus due to COVID lockdowns.
We were overwhelmed with the number of nominations, which is a testament to how valued our local businesses are by our community.
On behalf of the chamber committee, congratulations to all nominees.
You are all winners, not just for the amazing services you provide but for your tenacity and resilience over the past couple of years.
We were honoured to present two very special community awards this year.
The inaugural Norm Brennan Community Contribution Award was presented to local stalwart and legend Geoff Riley.
Our Chamber Champion Award was unanimously presented to the wonderful Denise Phillips.
We’re very fortunate to have such passionate, resourceful and committed community- minded people here in Deni.
Thank you Geoff and Denise for all that have done and continue to do for our community.
On a final note, just a reminder that Christmas is around the corner.
We have amazing specialty shops here in Deni, so please shop local.
Our party venues and accommodation will be filling up fast, so book early to avoid disappointment.
If you’re not sure what to get a loved one, our Deni Gift Cards are always a great option and can be spent at more than 40 local outlets.
Feel free to reach out to us at the chamber by emailing admin@deniliquinchamber.com.au, and don’t forget to follow us on social media to stay up-to-date with our events.
