The event, generously sponsored by Club Mulwala, was a heartfelt collaboration between Yarrawonga Health, MHA Care, and the Yarrawonga Mulwala Community & Learning Centre (YMCLC), highlighting the invaluable contributions of their volunteers.
Volunteers enjoyed a delicious two-course Christmas meal in the beautifully decorated Anzac Room, with prizes donated by Rich Glen adding a festive touch to the day. Reflecting on the success of the event Executive Officer of YMCLC Julie-Anne Clarke remarked that the Volunteer Christmas lunch was a resounding success with the number of volunteers continuing to grow each year.
“Volunteers are truly the backbone of our community, and this event was a wonderful way to celebrate and close out the year,” Ms Clarke said.
“The Christmas lunch also beautifully reflected the 2024 National Volunteer Week theme, 'Something for Everyone,' which recognizes the diverse talents and passions volunteers bring to their invaluable work."
MHA Care, which had 110 volunteers in attendance, including those from the Meals on Wheels Program, Foodshare, and the Opp Shop, also shared their gratitude.
"We are grateful for our partnership with YMCLC and Yarrawonga Health as it brings all our volunteers together,” MHA Care Volunteer Co-Ordinator Jessie Lawlor said.
“We are proud of the time and effort all these volunteers put in to support our local community, giving us the opportunity to provide services that otherwise would not be possible.
“Club Mulwala has been an essential supporter for our events, and we are looking forward to growing our volunteer programs in 2025 and continuing this wonderful partnership.”
Renate Buckmaster, Volunteer Coordinator at Yarrawonga Health, praised the dedication of all involved.

“Their dedication, compassion, and hard work are vital to Yarrawonga Health’s mission of delivering quality healthcare and support.
