Jessica Mitchell’s connection to the Campaspe Shire began when she moved to Echuca as a teenager, spending her youth in the area and studying at a local school before moving to Melbourne to begin her career.
In 2019, she returned to regional Victoria and settled in Kyabram with her family, and has been a proud member of the community ever since.
Mrs Mitchell said she has developed a strong connection to Kyabram and is looking for a seat on council because she believes she can contribute to building a supportive, connected and thriving community.
“I love living in regional Victoria and have developed a strong connection to the area, its strengths, unique ways of working, and its people,” she said.
Her priorities are improving community wellbeing and community engagement, and is committed to strengthening the working relationship between the council and the towns across Campaspe Shire
She hopes to be an advocate for Campaspe Shire residents through direct consultation with townships about challenges and opportunities.
From the top of the shire to the bottom, her commitment is having her voice be a community megaphone and to advocate for every corner of Campaspe in the council chambers.
Mrs Mitchell said that her professional and volunteer positions have taught her the importance of creating a space for community collaboration and diverse perspectives.
“I am committed to transparency, honesty, and engaging in meaningful conversations with community members to understand their needs,” she said.
Mrs Mitchell says her experience in running community initiatives, personal development and team building will perfectly equip her for a seat in the council chambers.
Mrs Mitchell said she loves living in Campaspe Shire because of the pace and beauty of regional life that it brings.
“I truly appreciate the vibrant community spirit that makes Campaspe Shire a wonderful place to call home.”
