Based on the details reported so far, Murray River Police District Chief Inspector Michael Fuller said they appear to be linked.
At the time the Pastoral Times went to print yesterday he said there had been four confirmed break-ins reported.
Police were still investigating one other suspected break-in, and Chief Insp Fuller said anyone else impacted is urged to come forward.
“Deniliquin Police are investigating after a number of businesses in the town were broken into.
“Police believe, due to the locations and time frames, the same group of offenders were involved.
“Police believe the break-ins occurred in a time period between midnight and about 4am.
Chief Insp Fuller said a variety store in Edwardes St was broken into, and an amount of money stolen.
Cash was also stolen from a café in End St, and another café in Cressy St.
Also targeted was an office/technology business in Cressy St. Police did not provide a list of items stolen, if any.
The Pastoral Times believes all businesses suffered damage as a result of the break-ins, varying in severity.
All will come at a cost to the businesses.
“There are likely some people who may have been around the Deniliquin shopping and business precinct that may have seen or heard something,” Chief Insp Fuller said.
“Police are seeking public assistance if you have any CCTV that covers the Deniliquin business precinct that has captured anything that may assist police.
“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously around the location of the break-ins, contact Deniliquin Police on 5881 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
“Police are continuing investigations and seek community assistance to identify the offenders.”
Chief Insp Fuller reminded people that calls to CrimeStoppers can remain anonymous.
