The Deni Rams’ C-grade netballers and reserves footballers were playing off for the silverware.
Unfortunately, both sides were defeated in their quest for premiership glory.
But one of the bright spots of the day was the support the Rams received.
Stands at the Moama Football Netball Club’s home ground were filled with the blue and gold of the mighty Deni Rams.
Partners, children, friends and extended family were all in attendance to support their Rams players, showing what country sports is all about.

Rugby players wanted
The prospects of having a rugby league team in town are still very much alive.
The Deni Blue Heelers has invited all interested parties to a player information evening this Friday.
It will provide greater understanding of the number of players committed to playing heading into season 2025.
Club president Kurt Longford is hopeful of bringing rugby league back to town after almost 50 years.
The club is also running a raffle to raise funds for the upcoming season.
The prize is a NSW Blues State of Origin jersey, signed by the game one playing group.
Those interested in being involved in the Blue Heeler Rugby League Club - as a player, committee member of other capacity - is encouraged to attend the info evening at the Railway Hotel in Napier St, Deniliquin this Friday at 7pm.

Holidays have begun
You may have noticed an increase in interstate registered vehicles in town, and a few unfamiliar faces in our CBD.
That’s because the Victorian school holidays have already begun.
NSW schools will follow suit after this week.
It is always good to keep in mind that during this time of year, heading toward warmer weather, we may see an influx of people holidaying in the areas we call home.
One of the places that gets particularly busy during this period is the Edward/Kolety River, a haven for visitors and wildlife alike.
Staying safe, keeping it clean and enjoying the river are all part of what makes our experiences on the water so good.

Speaking of the river, Talkback correspondents were a little perplexed over recent days to find a car abandoned on the beach of one of the best vantage points - McLean Beach.
We’re not sure if it was misadventure or an incident gone wrong, but it does serve as a reminder that vehicles are not allowed on the sand of either of Deni’s beaches.
McLean Beach does have a dedicated boat ramp if you need access to launch anything into the water.
And there are a few other public ramps scattered around the community too.
