The charity event was held on March 29 and attracted about 130 entrants, plus their families and friends.
The event was hosted by members of the Deniliquin Motorcycle Riders group, as a fundraiser for Deniliquin Can Assist.
Entrants paid a fee to take part in the run with their motorbikes or cars, or as a passenger on the shuttle bus.
They travelled from the Edward River Hotel to the Pretty Pine Hotel, Conargo Recreation Reserve, Blighty Hotel and back to the Edward River Hotel for a day of fun, with Can Assist raffles held at each stop.
Deniliquin Poker Run committee chair Ray Marsh said the event resulted in $12,800 in cash donations, and another $1000 in fuel cards.
With such an outcome from a rain affected event, Mr Marsh said there are high hopes future events may net even more for Can Assist to support even more locals.
Deniliquin Can Assist president Kellie Crossley said if plans to host the Poker Run annually come to fruition, it has the potential to be the Deniliquin branch’s major fundraiser.
Mrs Crossley and Can Assist patient liaison officer Bianca Armytage said the benefit of such a fundraiser cannot be overlooked.
But they said being involved in the event was also a lot of fun.
“It was such a well run event, and the result is just amazing from their first run and considering the rain,” Mrs Armytage said.
“It was a joy to be a part of,” Mrs Crossley added.
“This was a committee who got together a fundraiser on our behalf, and we’re so grateful,” Mrs Crossley continued.
“We could see just how happy they were with how it all went on the day, and we look forward to working with them to grow this event and see it become an iconic event for Can Assist.”
