She has a string of awards and accolades to her name for all the hard work she does behind the scenes for people in need in our community.
The latest for Mrs Armytage, however, has seen her formally recognised in NSW Parliament.
She was last week presented with a Community Recognition Statement from NSW Member for Murray Helen Dalton.
Mrs Dalton congratulated Mrs Armytage for her “extraordinary work supporting and assisting local cancer sufferers.”
“You do such an important job and you have high community regard,” she said.
“This is one of the better parts of my job.
“Bianca is the co-founder of Deniliquin’s Can Assist, a support network for people diagnosed with cancer.
“She has herself battled cancer, and volunteers as the patient liaison officer, supporting people with a cancer diagnosis.
“Bianca goes above and beyond and is a true hero for her local community.”
As part of her role, Mrs Armytage arranges accommodation, financial assistance, and other practical and emotional support for those in need.
“On behalf of the people of the Murray electorate I wish to congratulate and thank Bianca for her dedication, compassion and support for her community,” Mrs Dalton concluded.
Mrs Armytage said she co-founded Deniliquin Can Assist in January 2017 with Kellie Crossley.
“We wanted to raise money for everybody, which could be shared,” she said.
“Deniliquin did not have a local Can Assist branch, so we went about setting one up.”
Mrs Armytage and other Can Assist members are consistently in the community fundraising to support people with cancer, as well as working directly with cancer affected families on support measures.
