“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 15: 13-15 ESV).
When we enter into a relationship with God we become his friend, not his servant.
This is the God who created the universe and everything in it, He counts us worthy of entering into a friendship with Him.
As a friend he wants us to partner with Him to bring this world under His Lordship.
He doesn’t want to have secrets from us, he wants to share everything the father has made known to Him with us.
Jesus is the best friend we all need. He not only gave up His life for us but He promises to be with us in good and bad times and to bring good out of everything we go through in life.
In return for our obedience He offers us His provision, His protection, and His abiding presence.
We aren’t all lucky enough to find a best friend in this life but God Himself longs to be your best friend forever. He will never let you down.
