Both are members of the Deniliquin Netball Association and other local leagues, with Phoebe Newman with the Deniliquin Rams and Sienna with the Deniliquin Rovers.
The program provides eight monthly training sessions between February and October each year.
Sessions are based at Shepparton.
Each training session is based on three pillars: athlete education/wellbeing, physical preparation and on-court skills (technical and tactical).
Services are provided to the players as the academy program assists Netball Victoria in developing the netball athletes of our region.
The pair were identified through Netball Victoria’s Talent Identification program.
They were invited to trial for the Bendigo Academy of Sports program, where both have successfully gained a position for the 2024 season.
This elite program specialises in developing young athletes and is the stepping stone into the Netball Vic Pathway.
Sienna has also been selected in the 15 and Under North Central State title team for 2024, which is one of the 19 regions of Victoria that come together to compete at the Netball Victoria State Titles.
The opportunities taken by these junior netball stars showcase some of Deniliquin’s immense netball talent and some of the impressive achievements these juniors have made.
