The Deniliquin Bowling Club was open for business as normal on Friday evening, despite a kitchen fire which forced the club’s evacuation earlier in the day.

Emergency services were called to the club about 1.20pm after reports of a structure fire.
NSW Fire + Rescue, Deniliquin Police and Ambulance NSW all responded.
Fire + Rescue Deputy Captain Les Booth said the blaze was a fat fire in the kitchen, which went up through the range hood into the exhaust fan.
“The fire was contained to the kitchen.
“Part of the kitchen will be shut off but the rest of the club is open.” Dep Capt Booth said at the scene on Friday.
Deniliquin Bowling Club manager Narelle Bassett said it was not immediate, she said the club did re-open in plenty of time for the regular Friday night raffles. The doors opened at 4pm Friday.
“Nobody was injured, nobody was harmed and no customers were affected,” Mrs Bassett said.
“We had customers in at the time, two groups of people inside, who were vacated but they weren’t far away from leaving anyway as it happened at the end of our lunchtime period.
“We haven’t got the report back, but the fire was out before the firies got here.”
Mrs Bassett said because of the incident, and the assumption the fire had closed the facility, Friday night attendance was low.
But she said business returned to normal levels on Saturday.
