So much so, he decided to bring his family to Deni for the first time to see in the New Year.
Mr Taylor and his family are from Narre Warren South.
They had originally planned to stay at McLean Beach Holiday Park, where he had always visited as a child with his family, but had to make other plans because of the impact of the floods.
As members of the BIG4 chain, they landed at the BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park instead.
But Mr Taylor could not come to Deni without a little reminiscing.
He jumped on his bike and rode to McLean Beach, saying it was "wonderful to relive the memories as a kid“.
“It was horrible to see the devastation caused at the park, but I could see our old camping spot and the memories came flooding back,” he said.
“We used to float on the lilos down the river, went on the bomber swing and rode our bikes all day. We would only pop back (to camp) for lunch and dinner.
“Mum and dad thought it was awesome, as they got to relax a bit while we were gone,” he said with a fond grin.
Mr Taylor, his partner Ildiko Homoki and their children Christopher and Oliver arrived on Boxing Day.
They took a powered camp site, and will head home again today.
They said their holiday has been “fantastic”.
“The park has so many facilities on offer, and it has been wonderful to see how Deni has changed after 30 years,” Mr Taylor said.
