Congratulations to Mathoura Gun Club on its recent inaugural ‘Pink Shoot’.
The event not only attracted shooters from far and near but also others wishing to support the club and its charity, the Mathoura Bra Fence group, which supports those with cancer.
The club has revealed that an amazing $1,500 was raised during the event, and organizer Jack Carroll recently presented the money to a delighted Bra Fence representative, Sharnie Celli.
This is another example of our great community looking after our own.
Well done to all involved.

The two Lukes - Egan and Ward - will have the club’s future in their hands as co-coaches of the under-14 football team.
Their knowledge and skills will ensure the youngsters get a great start.
Our young netballers will also be in good hands with the re-appointment of last year’s coach, Nadine.
The club is hoping she will continue on from last year’s brilliant performance with the youngsters.

Well, it may be summer, but many of us are taking a bit of convincing.
There seems to have been enough inches of rain to make several feet in many areas.
But while there have been a few residents who had a leak or two around their homes, the majority of us have been able to take things as they came.
And with the farmers having finished their harvesting, there were not too many concerns.
The only problem has been the significant growth in weeds, particularly bindis, and God knows we can do without them.
