Tom Hawkins, who recently retired after a career in the AFL, will be at the Finley Country Club from 5pm Saturday to meet fans and sign copies of his book.
Simply titled Tom Hawkins, written by the man himself, explores his life from a young boy in Finley to his time at Assumption College and eventually life as an AFL footballer with Geelong.
The book was released in August and has had strong reviews among readers.
“Come and meet the AFL legend himself and grab a signed copy of his incredible book - a perfect gift idea just in time for Christmas,” the Finley Country Club said.
River Daze Barham
The River Daze Music Festival will return to Barham early next year, bringing to town high-level music and artistry.
The festival is a one-day event that will be held on Saturday, March 1.
Kicking off at 1pm and expecting to finish at 11.30pm, the festival allows for attendees to rock up during the afternoon and be done with the festival all in the one day, without fear of missing something on another day.

Berrigan Christmas Market
The Berrigan and District Development Association’s 2024 Berrigan Christmas Market night is fast approaching.
Friday, December 6 is the night. The main street will close from 5pm and entertainment will start at 5.30pm.
There will be a special visit from Santa, market stalls, food stalls, spinning wheel and raffles.
For the children there will be a jumping castle and face painting and local shops will be offering late trading.

Plane crash claims three lives
Three people have died in a plane crash at Tinamba West, including two from Tongala.
Emergency services responded to reports of a plane crash in a paddock off Hayfield-Upper Maffra Rd at about 5.45pm Saturday.
Police were informed that the plane was circling the area before it crashed and burst into flames.
A 20 year-old Tongala man, a 16 year-old Tongala boy and a 15 year-old Tinamba West boy died at the scene.
They were the only occupants onboard.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
