Multiple fundraisers for Keia Towler and Alex Andrew have been started with the aim of helping the expectant parents to recover items lost.
The pair were living at a Berrigan-Jerilderie Rd home, about 10km from Jerilderie.
The fire is believed to have started just before 4pm last Wednesday, but a cause is yet to be determined.
NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire + Rescue NSW brigades from across the district were dispatched to the blaze.
Jerilderie FRNSW Captain John Crittenden said it was quite a ferocious blaze, with the roof collapsing as his team arrived.
Because of the intensity of the blaze, Murray River Police District detectives are investigating the cause.
ADF weapons trial
A new weapons system has been tested at Puckapunyal as senior officers look to expand the Australian Defence Force’s counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAS) arsenal.
The ADF last month unveiled its first directed-energy weapon, the Fractl portable high-energy laser, marking a substantial stride in enhancing its UAS capabilities.
The state-of-the-art system boasts the ability to pierce through steel and can precisely track objects as diminutive as a 10-cent piece, moving at a speed of 100km/h from a distance of one kilometre.
The Fractl laser operates with an impressive quietness and minimal movement, requiring only basic training for soldiers to manage it effectively.
The weapon’s high-efficiency and user-friendly nature make it a noteworthy addition to the ADF’s weaponry.
Racing for USA opportunity
STEM students from Cobram Secondary College are preparing their wheels and revving up their motors.
The students have dedicated months to building a hydrogen-powered remote-controlled car, carefully designing, building and putting it together from scratch as part of Steam Education’s H2 Grand Prix.
They will head to Melbourne this month to race their car against 18 other teams from across Victoria in a test of endurance.
If they win, their car will take them to the United States, providing an opportunity to compete on a global stage.
