Funding is available for local projects and initiatives in the Central Coast, Hunter, New England, Southern Highlands, Southern and Central Tablelands, Riverina, and Murray regions as well as parts of the outer southwest of Sydney.
Grants of up to $5,000 are available to support programs, services, events, equipment and facility upgrades that enhance the wellbeing of communities in regional NSW.
Transgrid executive general manager of stakeholder, regulatory, and corporate affairs, Maryanne Graham said the aim of the program is to “make a real and positive impact by supporting projects that create an enduring positive legacy across the communities we serve”.
“Last year, 130 community groups received a total of more than $540,000 in funding for initiatives ranging from essential medical equipment to community wellbeing programs.
“We encourage community groups and not-for-profit organisations to take this opportunity to bring transformative projects to life. We encourage anyone thinking about applying to reach out to our team and we can also provide assistance in how to apply.”
Moulamein Preschool, which received a grant last year, used the funding to reduce start-up costs for their new day care service, helping to make childcare more affordable for local families.
“The grant is giving working parents more flexibility in supporting local children’s development, ensuring a strong foundation for the service’s future,” Moulamein Preschool business manager Shantal Sherman said.
