Chamber executive officer Kate Pitt said the customer service awards - business and individual - were, as always, some of the stronger categories.
But she said the number of nominees in the micro-business and best new business categories pointed to an exciting period in the local economy.
“The micro and best new sections were very well-supported, and that’s great for Deniliquin to see new businesses want to get involved.
“The new categories recognising marketing and construction and trades were also well-supported, but unfortunately, we received no nominations in the new agribusiness category.
“So we know that’s something we need to work on for next year, to make sure we can recognise that part of what makes our region so great.
“We also received some worthy nominations for our scholarships, and we look forward to announcing them at the awards night.”
Four judges from out of town assessed all the nominations to come up with a list of award finalists, listed below.
Ms Pitt said now it’s time for locals to get their tickets for the gala awards presentations.
The ceremony will be held at the Deniliquin RSL Club on Friday, August 9.
It starts with a soirée from 6pm, with the formal awards ceremony from 7pm including a three-course meal.
Tickets are $100 for chamber members and $115 for non-members, and can be booked using the QR code on page 10.
“We invite the community to come along, whether they are nominated or not because it is always a great night out,” Ms Pitt said.
“It is a night of celebration, and the atmosphere will be fabulous.”
