Air Con fire at Fit Now Gym

A fire which threatened Deniliquin’s FitNow Gym on Friday night is believed to have started in the airconditioner.

Deniliquin Fire + Rescue NSW was called to the End St gym about 11pm after reports of a building fire.

Deputy Captain Glenn Carr said the blaze was luckily contained to the AC unit.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters checked the roof space before the facility was given the all clear after about 30 minutes.

A car has been damaged by fire at a west Deniliquin home.

The car, which was parked in the carport, was discovered on fire about 2.30am Saturday.

It was “well alight” by the time firefighters arrived, but firefighting efforts prevented the flames spreading to the home.

Deniliquin Fire + Rescue NSW firefighters were called to provide flood assistance to north Deniliquin residence at the weekend.

Crews were deployed about 3.30am Sunday to a River St home.

Water was close to impacting on the home.

Pumps were used to reduce the inundation.
